His parents may be camera-less but Jacob's second six months of life have not gone entirely unrecorded thanks to our friends (and his doting Nonna!). I attended a seminar course taught by the philosopher Ian Hacking this quarter, and he approved of Jacob. So he invited him to the farewell party he hosted for his students in his flat the evening before he flew back to Canada. The party was a seminar party, with much of the time spent in philosophical discussion with much spremitura di meningi going on, but Jacob livened things up by laughing every time one of us did. As soon as he heard laughter, he would erupt into increasingly fake little laughs, which would make us all laugh, spurring him onto greater efforts.
Paola took these photos of him that evening, and kindly sent them to me. Thank you Paola!
