the wonderfulest school in the universe

today was Jacob's first day in his new school, aka 'the wonderfulest school in the universe.'
As you can imagine, whether or not you have read my earlier bilious post on schools, this makes his parents pretty happy. Let's hope the love affair lasts!
Reasons we have to hope that it will include a distinct lack of worksheets in his new school, of spelling tests and of homework, more than made up for by daily hugs from the teachers, lots of drawing, telling stories, excursions round Chicago and worms in the classroom (vermiculture).
Hooray!
