seasonal good cheer

Over the Christmas holidays, Mama took us to the Poggibonsi hospital where Jacob was born (see our very first post!) to visit the monumental crib there.

Here are some details, but none really do justice to its size or strangeness. Jacob was hypnotised by the butcher endlessly hacking his resilient hog in half.

Jacob, suave young man that he is, made friends with a young lady in Gatwick airport on our way back to Chicago after New Year.
Jacob first met his cousin Rosa when he was on the potty, but such is his sang froid that he did not allow this to interfere with his admiration for her footwear.
Nor did the potty get in his way when he wanted to give her a good hug.

While we were in London, we also went to visit Felix and Holly in their new home. Here's Jacob sharing a laugh with his uncle.
